In loving memory of

William Melville-Rea

29th November 1964 – 19th May 2026

It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the sudden passing of Will while on holiday in Japan.

On May 19th, after spending the day with friends, Will walked home and watched the fireflies in the garden. That evening, his heart stopped without warning. We take comfort in knowing that he was unconscious almost instantly and died without suffering.

Will leaves behind a vast constellation of family and friends spread across the world who knew and loved him. He reminds us how fleeting life is, and how much one person can mean to so many.
